Quite honestly when I found out the class project was to create a poster in the style of an artist we had researched.
Well Jamie Reid for those that don't know was the man who put a safety pin through her Majesty's Lip. Also well known for his works on the Sex Pistol's albums.
Who killed Bambi? and
God Save the Queen included among many more.
So I wanted to go with a grungy modern look of what he might would do today with graphics. Though I liked the background with it's simi-un-grunged look with a few brushes over top of it. [Credit given to the owners of the brushes below]
Well my frist concept peice didn't go over well with the class because Bambi looked 'girly'. xP So I went fiddling with it and the finished anthro is what you see. Well once I had him I had another problem, what was going to surround him.
Leading me up to the ransom note styled lettering and the chick with the gun. All tear outs. [Took several hours just to do that].
Anyways enough about what I did.....
On to the Credits James!
The girl came from

- Warning he does have a good deal of mature work.
I bought paper and punch out letters. The letters were oringally green layed on the background. I Photoshoped the letters out and put in the metalness.
The background stock came from Corbis.
umm... Brushessss dang now I don't remember which brushes I used. As soon as I figure that out creds will be given to them. I did however just search Devi for grung brushes.
I think one of the brushes was from ro_stock....
Also - thanks for the explanation. I had no idea who did the iconic Queen with safety pin shot. That was a favorite of mine (I was hanging out in knightsbridge when the Pistols first started playing...)
Oh you're welcome. I figured I'd toss in some facts because I knew some people wouldn't know who he was at first.
